Welcome to out first new song update. As we learn new songs together as a church I'll share some background and insights on the purpose and role of these songs in our worship. Recently we learned a new song called "From the Inside Out". Written by Joel Houston of the Sydney based worship team Hillsong United in 2005, it is a song that has come to represent the hearts of the younger Christian generation. Here are the lyrics: A thousand times I've failed Your will above all else In my heart in my soul Everlasting your light will shine when all else fades CCLI Song No. 4705176 Right from the beginning the song presents a transparent confession of our failings as Christians and the hope of God's enduring grace. Yet even though we fail, as Christians our desire is to do God's will above all else, a goal that requires us to deny ourselves and take up our cross (Matt. 16:24). The theme of this song is similar to Jesus' teaching to the Pharisees on how to clean cups in Matthew 23. If you clean the inside the outside becomes clean too. Likewise, if we allow God to change out hearts and souls, our lives will reflect those changes. This is the calling of the Christian life and the desire that this song gives voice to. |
It is still not too late to join the choir for the spring season! We are preparing for a more traditional Maundy Thursday service reflecting on the passion of Jesus. Joseph Martin and Jim Stanton have written some movingly beautiful music that conveys the mixture of emotions those who were with Jesus in the week vefore his crucifixion must have felt. As always, all are welcome to join the choir. There is no audition and you will never have to sing alone. If you love to worship Jesus with your voice and want to share that with others, this is the perfect opportunity to serve. I'll see you there! |
Welcome to the Worship Ministries pages for Christ Community Church. This is where we'll be sharing about opportunities to gather & serve as worshippers. We're excited about the many opportunities that we have to respond to God as we gather together. Every week children, teens, and adults young and old come together to celebrate the One who made us and has called us His own. From time to time we have additional gatherings that takes us beyond the bounds of our normal weekly experiences. These include concerts & seasonal worship events. All of this takes the help of many wonderful musicians and technical support personnel. If you have a passion to serve using these kinds of gifts, let us know. We're constantly adding to our numbers. Stay tuned for more news from the worship ministries of CCC. |
Well it's that time of year again. Auditions for the worship team are coming up and as always we're looking for talented musicians, vocalists, and most importantly worshipers to join us on our Sunday morning team. If you're interested in leading our congregation in worship then come to an informational meeting on Sunday, March 14th, from noon-1:00pm in room 214. We'll go over the audition process, talk about the expectations of team members and answer any questions you may have. You will not need any instruments for this first meeting. The actual auditions will take place in mid-April.
